Whether you’re a student, a busy professional, or just someone who wants to be more productive, certain tools can help you get the job done. Here are three of my favorite tools that I use every day:
1. Trello
Trello is a great tool for keeping track of tasks and projects. It’s simple to use and very visual, so you can easily see what needs to be done and when. You can create different boards for different projects, and add tasks to each board. Trello is also great for collaboration. If you’re working on a project with others, you can all use Trello to stay organized and to get the juices flowing.
I have 9 boards. They allow you to have 10 boards for free. I will likely upgrade to have unlimited boards. One of my boards has 2 years of content ideas for blog posts, Facebook posts, videos, and my website. I used the Content Board to come up with the idea for this blog post. Another Board is used to plan out my Funnels. Once I’ve used the content I move it to a Repurposing Content Board to be used later on. I make a note of when and where I used the content.
2. Evernote
Evernote is a great tool for taking notes and keeping track of information. You can create notebooks for different topics, and add notes, images, and files to each notebook. Evernote syncs across all of your devices, so you can access your notes from anywhere. You can also share notebooks with others, so it’s great.
I have 172 Notebooks with 24,884 notes in them. That’s how useful I find it. When I’m out shopping, I can bring up a recipe in Evernote on my phone to make sure I get all the ingredients. When I’m sitting in on a Webinar I take notes in Evernote. When I’m surfing the web and find an interesting article, I can add it to my Evernote. I keep a notebook on each of my clients. Most importantly I keep a yearly notebook for all copies of my receipts.
3. Google Calendar
Google Calendar is a great tool for keeping track of your schedule. You can add events and reminders, and sync your calendar with your email and other devices. Google Calendar is also great for sharing your schedule with others, so they can see when you’re free and when you’re not. I would be lost without it. It comes in handy if you are being audited to prove you had a meeting or were traveling to justify the expenses you claimed. So don’t forget to drop everything you do on your calendar.
These are just three of the many productivity tools out there. Do some research and find the ones that work best for you. With the right tools, you’ll be well on your way to becoming more productive.
